7月10日夜、フランス・ボルドーのサンテステフ地区にあるChateau Cos d’Estournel(シャトー・コス・デストゥルネル)の、シャトー内及びブドウ畑の見学をオンラインにて行いました。

東京は19時、ボルドーは同日正午からスタート。

青空の元、現地の空気感が東京にも伝わってくるような見学会になりました。

初代オーナーが、インドで事業を成功した縁から、外観にも像のモチーフが使われるなど、エキゾチックな雰囲気が漂っています。現地を訪れたことのあるカツさん曰く、「ボルドーの中でも特別なシャトー」とのこと。

オンラインツアーの中では、シャトーの外観やワイン畑、最新鋭の製造設備を見学。新しさの中にも「変わらずに大切にしているもの」を感じるひとときとなりました。

その後、4種のワインをテイスティング。白ワイン「シャトー・コス・デストゥルネル・ブラン2021」、赤のセカンドワイン「パゴド・ド・コス2020」、年代の異なる筆頭ワイン「シャトー・コス・デストゥルネル2021・2010」を堪能。ボルドーへ想いを馳せながら楽しみました。

On the evening of July 10th, we held an online tour of the chateau and vineyards at Chateau Cos d’Estournel in the Saint-Estephe region of Bordeaux, France.

The tour started at 7pm in Tokyo and noon in Bordeaux. Under clear blue skies, the tour allowed us to feel the local atmosphere in Tokyo.

The original owner had a successful business in India, and the exterior exudes an exotic atmosphere. Katsu-san, who has visited the chateau, describes it as “a special chateau, even in Bordeaux.”

During the online tour, we saw the chateau’s exterior, vineyards, and state-of-the-art production facilities. It was a moment to get a sense of the “things that remain unchanged and important” even amidst the newness.

Afterwards, we tasted four wines. We savored the white wine “Château Cos d’Estournel Blanc 2021,” the red second wine “Pagode de Cos 2020,” and the flagship wines from different eras, “Château Cos d’Estournel 2021 & 2010.” We enjoyed the experience while thinking about Bordeaux.
